Advanced Registry Doctor Pro 9.2.02.18 Portable | 5.29 Mb

The registry is one of the most essential components of Windows OS, critical to proper functioning of any PC computer. Unfortunately, as more and more programs gets installed and then removed, the registry becomes more like a digital dump, full of incorrect shortcuts, invalid extensions, and missing entries, which dramatically hinders computer performance.

Advanced Registry Doctor Pro is capable of scanning for, diagnosing and curing multiple registry problems, which averts possible malfunctions and crashes, and significantly improves the speed of computer loading and performance. In addition, the program comes with a set of advanced options, like registry defragmenting, built-in scheduler, backup and restore feature, history log and many other perks – a registry toolkit, for example.

This version of software looks through the following data for possible registry spoilers application paths, uninstall information, COM/ActiveX objects, help files, file extensions, font files, most recently used files list, shared DLLs and folders, startup applications, Windows/MS-DOS Shortcuts. The automatic cure options means that any person, regardless of his or her PC literacy level can solve registry problems by simply pressing a button. Advanced users can opt to make registry changes manually.

ARD can bring some of the dead links back to life. For example, that is if you?e accidentally moved your files (font files, help files, shared folders, shared DLLs, etc) to some other place. The main point of using ARD is that it will do the entire job for you; you just have to select which problems to search (categories) and HDD list, which will be used by the program for finding solutions. Usually you’ll have to use ARD when new program is installed/removed.

Add Customized Strings (OEM Information) and Logo in System Properties Dialog Box of Windows XP

Posted by ArpitChakraborty on February 24, 2011

opera_logo

Today in this tutorial, we’ll tell you how to add OEM information and logo in Windows XP’s System properties dialog box.

So here we start our tutorial:

1. You’ll need following 2 files in “WindowsSystem32” folder to show OEM information and logo in System Properties dialog box:

  • OEMlogo.bmp
  • OEMinfo.ini

OEMlogo.bmp file shows the logo in System Properties dialog box. You can create your own desired BITMAP using any image editing software like Adobe Photoshop, etc or you can use Windows built-in app MSPaint. The maximum allowed dimension for the BMP file is 180×114 px. Although you can create your image less than the mentioned dimensions.

OEMInfo.ini file is a text file which can be created using any text editor like Windows built-in Notepad. It contains some predefined strings in following format:

[General]
Manufacturer=
Model=

[Support Information]
Line1=
Line2=

1st section [General] is required but 2nd section [Support Information] is optional.

Following is an example of a ready-made OEMInfo.ini file:

[General]
Manufacturer=Tweaking with Arpit
Model=https://arpitchakraborty.wordpress.com

[Support Information]
Line1=This file was provided by:
Line2=
Line3=Arpit Chakraborty
Line4=
Line5=Who is a Microsoft MCTS
Line6=
Line7=And also runs Tweaking with Arpit website.
Line8=
Line9=https://arpitchakraborty.wordpress.com, you can put any desired text in each line after the equal (=) sign.

2. Once you create both OEMLogo.bmp and OEMInfo.ini files, copy the files to %windir%System32 folder. Here %windir% means “Windows” directory present in system drive where Windows is installed in your system e.g. C:Windows.

In this build, Core has been upgraded from version 2.7.62 to 2.8.99, which is a pretty big step forward. With this Core upgrade comes the implementation of the Web Open Font Format (WOFF).

In addition, a batch of changes to network compatibility has been implemented. The purpose of these changes is to modify network behaviour so that Opera is more compatible with other web browsers.

These changes include:

  • Disable Cookie2 by default, with an option to enable it again
  • Send more compatible Accept headers
  • Disable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 by default
  • Make sure redirects from http to https are labelled secure
  • Remove the use of master password for client certificates
  • Added a preference to disable cross-network protection

Apart from that, frequent crashes for Mac users on Facebook, Live Mail/Hotmail, and Google Docs are finally resolved.

Known Issues:

  • No HTML5 media playback on Mac
  • Acid3 reference rendering is broken
  • Mouse panning broken on Windows
  • Tabs opened by extensions open to the left instead of the right
